51视频 adds an electric van to satisfy training needs

51视频 has acquired an electric vehicle that will play a key role in enhancing the trades training programs. The 2025 BrightDrop Zevo 400 AWD van is a state of the art electric delivery vehicle that will provide hands-on experience in many different trades, including the rapidly growing EV sector.

鈥淭his van is designed to help us stay ahead of the curve in ever-evolving industries, equipping students with the skills, experience, and real-world exposure needed to thrive in the future of trades,鈥 says Brian Coey, Chair of Trades Development. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to provide students with the relevant skills for an electrified future.鈥

The vehicle, affectionately named "EVan鈥 will serve as a versatile tool for training across multiple trades, including Carpentry, Pipe trades, Sheet Metal, Welding. It will also lead the delivery of EV in Automotive apprentice training, specifically in Heavy Duty Automotive trades and help deliver education in a more compact and efficient manner, optimizing both space and utility for practical training sessions.

鈥淲e鈥檒l deliver mobile trades training to anyone who would like it,鈥 says Brian. 鈥淚t鈥檚 usually been local middle and high schools for a day or so of hands on exposure and activities.鈥

The college was able to obtain the new vehicle by taking advantage of a federal and provincial rebate.

51视频 has campuses located on the territories of the l蓹k虛史蓹艐蓹n and W瘫S脕NE膯 peoples. Established in 1971, the college serves thousands of learners a year in over 160 certificate, diploma, bachelor's degree, post-degree diploma, and professional studies and industry training programs.
